The Walden Group Is Proud To Host Our Annual Golf Tournament During The Canadian Mining Expo
Again this year, The Walden Group will host our annual Invitational Golf Tournament during the Canadian Mining Expo, in Timmins ON, June 6-7. This year, we’ve selected The Northern Cancer Foundation as the recipient of our charitable donation. All funds collected through hole sponsorship and individual player contributions will be presented to an NCF representative at the tournament.
Our donation to The Northern Cancer Foundation For Bladder Cancer Technology, would not be possible without individual player contributions that will be collected at the tournament, and of course our gracious hole sponsors. These sponsors are listed below, with each opening a link to their website.
The Northern Cancer Foundation: Who We Are
Our researchers continue to work towards improving cancer care through innovative research that is making an impact on the world stage. These highly educated and motivated individuals have successfully obtained millions of dollars in grant monies that are contributing towards finding a cure and improving the lives of those living with cancer. Without the work of the NCF, nationally competitive research programs would not exist at the Northeast Cancer Centre.
The NCF has also initiated collaborations with the HSN, Laurentian University and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM). Through these partnerships we have brought new dollars into the community and provided support for high quality educational training experiences to university students, aspiring scientists, and medical practitioners.
In total, the NCF has worked with and been supported by over one hundred (100) separate organizations and groups- secondary schools, mine and smelter workers, Royal Canadian Legionnaires, Service Clubs, Community Groups, families and individuals- all of whom have been generous and committed in making every contribution of which they were capable. All have endeavored to rid society of cancer and all united in their desire to make a difference.
The NCF will continue to move forward with a renewed focus in supporting vital patient care, new equipment and research. Together with the NCC and the HSN, we will continue to prosper and offer world class care for patients and their families of the Northeast.
